Leaf Garland!

The autumn leaves are so fun for jumping in leaf piles, 

Admiring the temporary beauty of changing hues, 

and inspiring leaf decor! 

Make your own leaf garland! 

Supplies:

Scissors

Hole punch

Yarn

Construction Paper

Fallen leaves

First choose a leaf or leaves to be your stencil (I chose one maple leaf and an oak leaf)

Trace those leaves onto construction paper

Cut out the leaf shapes, and use those original leaves as the pattern for the rest.

Cut out as many different leaves as you may need or want (this depends on the length of the garland and the proximity of one leaf to the next on the garland) 

Punch holes near the stem of the leaves

String onto yarn one and a time and fasten with a square knot 

Hang up your garland and celebrate autumn!

Make your own Sticktastic wall art:

Collect fallen sticks from about the yard

Arrange them into a design or picture of your liking

Using a glue gun, attach touching parts of sticks to one another

Optional: add rope or twine with glue wound around joints for added security

Hang on the wall and admire your art! 

Halloween Raccoons!

After making fabulous felt masks at the little farm on the hill, the Dreamer and the Caveman decided definitively that they would be raccoons for Halloween! I made my own pattern based on one made by my friend's mother, cut the pieces out of felt, and hot glued them together. Lastly, I attached elastic and sewed tails! On Halloween night, my spawn dressed in gray sweatsuits and paraded around as raccoons begging for treats! 

Pumpkin Patch!

My brother-in-law and his girlfriend gave us free tickets to a pumpkin patch just prior to Halloween! The farm had so much more than pumpkins to offer, and our spawn had a blast with the gentle beasts, corn maze and tractor tire graveyard/playground!
