First Grade!

As the this summer break drew to a close, the Dreamer finally received the long anticipated postcard from who would become her new teacher, Mrs. Murphy. It was time to get ready. School supplies were purchased, labeled, and packed, dresses sewn, a backpack appliquéd, and at last, a bracelet crafted just for the Dreamer in order to inspire courage within her heart as she embarked on her newest adventure of becoming a first grader.

               Letter from teacher!

          Cat backpack (what else?)

               Courage tag bracelet

Carline assistant helping to hold a misspelled tag that I was too intimidated to correct

The Dreamer, a first grader, photographed in the backyard following her first day of school (I forgot to take pictures at the start of the day with her hair freshly styled, backpack strapped to her back and lunchbox in hand.... Mom fail)

Thus far, first grade has brought few complaints other than a space issue concerning the boy sitting beside her invading her desk with his work and supply box, and the apparently "dull" lunchbox meals that I have provided. She is excited about new friends, and being a "big kid" in the school. To put it mildly, the Dreamer is a tad high on herself at the moment, much too cool to get on our level and go searching for earthworms...
