Ooh La La! Stringing Beads

The Caveman has been a busy bee fine tuning his fine motor skills. The Dreamer decided that it was time to teach him to bead, and she could not have timed this lesson more perfectly.

         Plastic cord (stiff and no-fray)

She gathered her plastic cord (nice for learning due to its stiff nature and the fact that it does not fray) and her wooden and alphabet beads which have decent sized holes for beginners. I was enlisted to tie a knot in the cord.

Box of wooden and alphabet beads

Knot I tied in the cord followed by a bead with a smaller hole to ensure the next bead addition would stay in place and not slip over the knot

The Dreamer proceeded to show the  Caveman the process of slipping a bead onto a string, and then allowed him to create. He was a natural; determined and rarely frustrated, he completed a gorgeous necklace, and I tied up the ends. He then lovingly and proudly gifted the necklace to me!

In quiet concentration, hard at work

                Making progress!

      Finished product: So very lovely!
